When it comes to meeting and greeting visitors, suppliers and clients at your business it is important to make sure that you have a reception area that is not only reflective of your business but warm and inviting too.

Here are our top tips for creating a welcoming reception area for your business:

  1. Signage – you need to include the name of your business in your reception are and perhaps a slogan or tagline that is appropriate to your business. YOu should also make sure that you have signs to indicate the different areas of your business so that your visitors know where to go.
  2. Seating – There is nothing worse than arriving to meet someone for business purposes to be told by the reception staff that they will be with you shortly, but you are left standing around waiting for them. This is where Reception Chairs from businesses such as www.bestbuy-officechairs.co.uk/reception-chairs/ can help you. They can be found in a variety of colours, styles and sizes and you could even have some cushions created in your company logo colours. These seating areas give your visitors the chance to relax whilst they are waiting for the appropriate member of staff to meet them.
  3. Refreshments – if you have visitors regularly attending your business premises you may want to consider offering them refreshments whilst they wait. This could simply be a water cooler that allows them to grab a quick glass of water whilst they wait. Other larger companies will also have a coffee machine that will dispense a variety of different drinks.

  1. Retail opportunity – your reception area is another place in which you can advertise your services of products. This could be a carefully placed display cabinet of a selection of your products or perhaps a few words from happy clients that give testimonials about your services.

It is important to remember that first impressions last, especially in business and many people will subconsciously make a decision on whether or not they want to buy from a person within the first minute. Your reception area is possibly the first interaction your visitors are going to get with your staff and one of the first visual impressions that they will get of your business. So it is important that you spend time planning and designing this area so it reflects your core values as a business and has your visitors leaving with a smile on their face.
